After battling a smoking addiction, and quickly coming to my senses I realised how awful my teeth looked. Through complete luck I happened to be infront of the TV just at the right time, and tested two ‘DIY’ teeth whitening products, that together, managed to remove years of harsh stains I thought I could never get rid of. This is my story..

Ok, this was a huge difference for me and the teeth whitening secrets I learned really changed my life. I’m not a dentist, doctor or medical expert, I’m just a mum who was tired of covering my mouth when I laughed and decided I wasn’t going to give up on having pearly white teeth again..
“Do your discoloured teeth make you feel out of place, and ugly?”
For me, it was a combination of things. I drink a lot of coffee, but on top of being a big coffee drinker (which I still am, though no one can tell from looking at my teeth any longer), I had also started smoking back in secondary school (how cool was I – not!). I smoked for over 11 years before finally quitting for good. Whilst I was smoking, I didn’t realise the cosmetic damage it was doing, I had no idea how much I would later regret it and want to rediscover how to get pearly white teeth again.
When I quit smoking and looked in the mirror, it scared me to see what I had done to my formerly white teeth. I was so scared that I started getting my teeth cleaned every 3 months hoping that would get rid of the stains but I didn’t see much of any improvement. It really, really bothered me because my stained teeth made me feel old and ugly. I felt I really had to do something to find how to get pearly white teeth again.

Like I said, my stained teeth really made me feel old and disgusting. I had to get rid of the stains, and make my teeth whiter. I spent weeks reading everything I could find about teeth whitening, and quite possible asked the most questions ever on Yahoo Answers to do with teeth whitening. I spent a small fortune on dozens of products that they sell at Boots & Super Drug, but even after all that, my teeth were still stained. I was so upset and almost gave up, and that’s when it happened.
I was making dinner with the TV playing in the background and just happened to hear a specialist report on a new method of teeth whitening that had been recently discovered. I just about leaped over to the TV, and turned up the volume. It was a story on CNN about a New York dentist, a dentist “to the star“, who was an expert in teeth whitening (At this point, I knew there may still be something I could do to make my teeth whiter) and had been asked to discuss the newest advancements in modern “at home” tooth whitening products.
I can even roughly remember his exact words. They were somewhere along the lines of, “Yes, two years ago I used some of the products that were on the market and my teeth lightened almost up to five shades. But recently we tested 22 volunteers using a new technique and results ranged from one shade difference to eight shades lighter.” Well, 8 shades lighter sounded pretty good to me and I trusted that CNN, being a reputable news station. I felt it was perfectly safe to assume they wouldn’t feature “suspect” dentists, so I searched the internet for the products this dentists had recommended, still hoping to get pearly white teeth once again.
“I had invested a small fortune hoping to Get Pearly White Teeth.. to be disappointed. Was this all too good to be true?”
Like I said, I had already spent a small fortune trying to whiten my teeth with almost no effect, so to say I was skeptical is a big understatment.
Still, it was CNN and this dentist was well renowned within cosmetic dentistry, so I went online and searched until the early hours before I found both products. Now, I’m far from rich, so price was a big issue, but I was able to find two websites that offered these products where you could try them out first on a promotional free trial basis by only paying a few dollars for shipping.
That was great because I could actually test them out without having to buy them, and if they didn’t work, I was only risking a few dollars shipping. So I ordered them and, well, the after picture speaks for itself. Finally! Something that worked!! I finally had found a way to truly get pearly white teeth back.

The products discussed within the “dentist to the stars” report were two completely different products – Alta White & Idol White – apart from the $6.95 I paid in postage, they were completely free!
Depending on the extent of the stains your trying to remove, I would just start off with the first product. Alta White cleared up my most prominent and noticeable stains. If after using Alta White, you still have some sketchy areas that you really want to brighten up, then get the second trial if its still around. That way you only have to do this once, but it’s really up to you.
What I did was use these 2 products, first the – Alta White then Idol White – one right after the other, and I was able to completely whiten my teeth! They looked so good that even my dentist was shocked.
So here you can see how my teeth looked after using Alta White. The results were really good and, I think, for most people this one product alone would be enough:
If you have really stained teeth, you can then use Idol White and get a literally 100% whitening. That’s what I did, the below picture is after Idol White and it removed practically all of the stains I had. It really did help me get pearly white teeth on a whole new level!
